  1. With more and more screens out there that require screen scaling at more than 100% it is time for MLO to catch up with many other applications and lead the desktop task organizers category with supporting scaling on these higher DPI screens.
MLO is a program that is probably used more than occasionally by most users and the fuzzy appearance or too-small items on these screens is just too hard on the eyes.

  2. Android MLO should sync all tasks to the linked Google Calendar, everyone these days have Gmail or Google Calendar. It is very important that MLO can sync with Google Calendar!

  3. I set "@Home" to include "@Calls", "@Computer", ... I thought this would automatically show them when I'm at home. But when I click on "Nearby" I only see one context ("@Home") and the "@Call" tasks are not included.

Probably a bug of the Android version, according to a comment on this suggestion: http://mlo.uservoice.com/forums/9235-general/suggestions/1273221-allow-multiple-locations-for-a-context.

  4. Request:
Selectable option: When subtasks are complete, parent is complete

    Example:
    I have a small Project I'm tracking.

    Replace machine cover
    Ship cover from office
    Receive cover from customer

I don't have to do anything besides make sure these two tasks are done and I don't have to follow up with people once these two tasks are done.

    Notes:
I understand and use the premise that subtasks complete <> project complete on many projects. I think this is helpful for small defined projects / SUBPROJECTS (mostly where I'm tracking someone else work).

  5. I suggest adding a REAL attach files function.

It seems the "attach link" feature (Ctrl+Alt+F) suffices for most. But with all the new avenues to view the task list (portable, iPhone, etc) the linked files dont go along for the ride. I am a scientist and would love to be able to create a "Read This" task and drop an article's pdf in. I just cant make the switch from Outlook complete until I can bring the tasks files with me.

To keep the main *.ml file compact maybe create an ml "storage" file. Use zip or something to have…

  6. When few tasks are selected I suggest to calculate Min and Max time needed to complete those and show it somewhere (status bar?).
Will help plan a week, not to have tasks for more than 8 hours/day.

  9. With extended use of this powerful tool, battery life can run down quickly with the bright white theme. With dark theme I wouldn't be surprised if MLO would provide 5-10 times extended use by saving battery life not used lighting the surrounding like it does now.

  10. Please create a native Dark mode for the whole Windows application.

It would help immensely especially for night time use at the very least.

All of us spend a lot of time staring at screens and it would be really great to have a Dark mode to reduce eye strain. Pleas check out the discussion in the groups.

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

  11. Currently, this kind of thing is reserved for Projects, but even simple tasks have a "started" component to them-- for things that are assigned to someone else, for example, or a task that will take longer than just an immediate thing.

  13. I spend too much time trying to figure out why some maybe/someday task showed up among my urgent priorities or why something I must do today is languishing at the bottom. Suggestion: Enhance Task Statistics to show every factor that goes into the sorting of tasks, show how they are weighted and combined. It would save a lot of trial-and-error.

  14. Once a recurring task becomes due, I very often want to adjust the due date to suit my plans for the next few hours/days. At the moment, the only way to do this is to bring up the cumbersome Recurring Tasks dialog box. I would like to be able to just hit Alt+D to jump to the Due Date dialog box and to then be able to type '2hrs' or 'Fri' or whatever to change the time to a more convient slot.

  16. MLO is not truly portable app, it saves settings in a registry. 1) Add support for storing settings in a config file near mlo.exe (ini, xml). 2) Save relative paths to *.ml files if they are opened from MLO directory.

  17. I love and am addicted to the manual sorting of the todo list. It would be really nice if you could synchronize this manual sort to the cloud, ideally back down to both the desktop and mobile versions.

  19. I just recently started read about Kanbans - and realized that I have been using MLO as really a Kanba (kind of).

Without going into much detail - I select items from outline to be done in year, for this I mark them as Year Goal, then select items from these within year items to be done in month, and mark them as Month Goal, and then from that mark items to be done in Week.

This is so much Kanban like - Item kind of moving in the value stream.

MLO is list list and list - it will…

  20. Dear MLO developers,

I’m using your product during several months and very happy by its convenience and robustness. Thank you for such big contribution in PIM solutions!

Now I miss the only one feature that is quite important for me, as my approach to tasks arrangement was settled with years. I’m trying to find an automatic way to convert emails with “Follow Up” flag to MLO tasks during synchronization with MS Outlook. I’m also interested in synchronization of the state of this flag during backward synchronization to Outlook.

As I have programmer’s background I could try to do it myself…
