I have a Windows machine at work and Mac at home and there is no good GTD Desktop app like MLO or Omnifocus that is multiplatform. I think OS X version will give many users the chance to switch to a very reach featured muktiplatform GTD/Outliner app.

MLO on Mac must be!

Agreed... I would much more prefer to use MLO on my Mac.

Why create a version for the iPad and the iPhone and no version for the papa OS - MacOS? I won't even consider it unless it runs on the Mac as well. Former software engineer.

Has anyone got the wifi-sync with MLO & Crossover to work?
I have to also install VMWare and run that each time i want to wifi sync.

Instead of a Mac desktop version, why not kill 2 birds with one stone and consolidate instead. MLO for android could be ported into a chrome browser app.
Since the chrome browser is available for mac, windows, and linux, that could extend compatibility while reducing the number of versions that need to be maintained.
I'm not a programmer, but it seems that making an android app work on chrome would be relatively simple.

All you Mac ppl have options- Wine/Wineskin, Crossover, VMWare Fusion... even Parallels Desktop should work. If you miss it so much, if you're willing to pay for a license, then just pay for Fusion and move on.
I get the want for an OS/X native app but there's other things for the [resource limited] MLO team to work on that *don't* have a workaround.
And to the obviously bright future programmers - Having an iPhone or iPad version gains NOTHING towards porting for OSX.

Anyone know what technology was used by the MLO team for the Android & iPhone clients? Would it have been Mono by any chance? i.e., MonoTouch, MonoDroid.
I notice there is a Mono implementation for Mac, called MonoMac, apparently gaining ground but not yet 100% mature. http://www.mono-project.com/Mono:OSX, or, more likely, http://xamarin.com/mac, for the vendor-supported version. If the MLO team did use Mono, that would be at least one small factor in simplifying the task of creating a native Mac application for MLO. I'm new here so I have no idea about that.
From other posts I've seen in the past, I understand the Windows version of MLO is written in Delphi (a Pascal-based language, for Win32, though there are .NET versions of it, but still a lot of code rework to go from Win32 to .NET). The C# language that Mono normally supports happens to have been created by one of Delphi's creators, a fellow named Anders Hejlsberg. In theory, migrating Delphi Win32 code to C# on Mono should be feasible, but still probably a lot of work for a small development team.
Migrating the MLO code base to C# and Mono would certainly open up a lot of platform options for MLO, including Mac (OSX), Android, every Linux distribution, and even the game consoles.

As most of the people in this group I would love to have a version for Mac. Currently I am Omnifocus user, however due to my occupation I have to jump around between different operating systems. So having the first cross-platform solution that doesn't suck will get my $$$.

Also see this new thread I created on using it with Wineskin/Wine. Crossover also uses Wine so things are pretty similar.

Have been using MLO on Android but in having a Mac I really want to sync this program, when? Am looking at some others that offer online access, but nothing, NOTHING is as comprehensive as MLO. Hopefully your moving into iPad/iPhone will open the way to develop this program for Mac.

Substantial research online indicates to me that there is a significant market for a decent Getting Things Done capable application that can sync between OS X, Windows, Android, and iOS.
Omnifocus is excellent, but the developers have ZERO interest in developing an app for Android. So unless one has an iPhone (or wants to carry around an iPod or iPad AND a phone) then Omniforcus is not portable. I happen to have OS X and an Android smartphone. Whilst looking for a way to in some way get Omnifocus to interact with my Android phone, I found many other people stuck in the same quandary.
I use to use MLO when I had Windows as my computer OS. Loved it and searched extensively for a way to run it on OS X with decent integration. I ended up switching to Omnifocus. Now I am considering switching back to MLO. I can run it in a VM or Wine, however it leaves a lot to be desired in terms of integration with OS X. Omnifocus integrates systemwide. Using Services I can send emails, documents, text, URLs, etc. directly into my Omnifocus inbox and projects. Omnifocus can utilise my calendar also. MLO in a VM or Wine has none of that.
What MLO does have going for it, which nearly all other decent GTD style apps lack, is support for iOS and Android (and Windows). Add OS X into the mix and I am sure you'll have a winning and popular solution.

I'm using MLO 3.6.2 in CrossOver on Mac. Works pretty good.

The lack of a Mac version is the obvious hole in your product offer. It's a real shame as there are plainly plenty of people who'd happily buy it.
Hopefully the iPad MLO includes at least some work that can port to a full Mac desktop version.
My wallet's just waiting for you to give it the nod ;)

Recently entered Mac-world and desperately lacking of native MLO version. Sure, for extra money, yeah.

I'd gladly pay for another license as well to have this on PC and Mac. For a lot of people, me included, a Mac switchover is inevitable. Mac support in the US will be over 20% by the end of the year. Seems like a no brainer.

Just adding another voice to this call. I routinely use Mac, Linux and Windows on my various machines as well as my Android phone and would happily pay for a MLO solution which will let me use it on all my devices. You are losing business from me on this and, I suspect, many more.

Yes, we really need MLO for Mac!
