Mean Lean Organization: MLO for Teams/Groups
I want to put this out for voting, but I have been talking to Andrey about this behind the scenes.
I have requested a slew of features to enable and support multiple users working in one data file via network or cloud sync.
Features are aimed at allowing task assignments, progress reporting, and differing worker/manager views.
All features would be optional-- this could even be a separate product. Currently, there are ways to kludge some of these things by using contexts, notes, etc., but this is to formalize those conventions to leverage what the app can support in terms of group workflow.
+ Adding user accounts to MLO-- with rights and permissions.
+ Task assignments, task ownership-- so I may assign a task to you and any changes to the task are reported to me. I can request status update on a particular task, and you are notified.
+ Per-user view customization (so not all settings are stored with data file when inappropriate). Some settings may be per file (what icons are available, names of flags), other settings per user (what columns are shown in my Active Actions view).
There is more. I proposed the alternate Mean Lean Organization branding and am currently environment testing the base concepts in two environments.

I agree: delegation, using MLO in groups, seeing what tasks have been given to other, what tasks have been assigned by others - this plus calendar plus gant and MLO would be nearly perfect
(more important that "mobile" features)

I agree you should unite it with the delegate suggestion.
Although there is a difference:
This suggestion will allow assigning tasks to other MLO users.
The delegate suggestion will allow assigning tasks to non-MLO users (simple name, just for reference)
Personally, I'd use the second one more.

Guys, this suggestion in general is very close to "Add "delegate" function" suggestion (which has more votes). I propose to unite and to move your votes to "delegate suggestion". This way it will be more chances to be in top.
Comments also can be copyed.

Hmm, sounds awesome. I would call this product My Work Organized!
Great ideas. But as a start, why not keep it simple: Just add
1) Place to enter a list of team members
2) Add a task field "Assign to User" with a drop down list of team members
3) Allow the "Assign to User" task field to participate in sorting, filtering, views etc.
That's my two cents worth!
Great idea! I've been looking for ways to make it easier to share projects/tasks with others using MLO.
gets three votes from me :-) MLO would be so much more powerful with a good team option
I've thought about this a lot, because I want everyone in my company to keep track of their commitments to others and what others have on their plates.
There's a lot of different ways a group task/project management app could go to fit different situations. Since MLO syncs with Outlook tasks, that seem like a good sync mechanism to tie into some project management system. I've got some ideas for this in my "someday-maybe" using Sharepoint. The main problem I can foresee is one side or the other messing up the others sync mechanism.

Amen. Custom fields would also be really nice, if they could participate in sorting, etc.
