Add gantt chart
Please simple gantt chart into mlo. It will be very useful to have visualisation of your tasks and projects on time line.

A gantt chart currently will not provide a realistic visualisation of any project because MLO ignores dependencies when setting start and due dates. It is quite possible in MLO to have 'Paint Room' start before 'Buy Paint', on which it is dependant. This creates a situation which would be ridiculous on a gantt and would only visualise something which is impossible to carry out. Unless dependencies are properly implemented the whole function would be pointless. There is already a suggestion to make dependencies work properly which has hardly any votes at all. I suggest people provide more support for that first and take things one step at a time.

In tasks planning and time management, for me personally, a Gantt chart function is irreplaceable. I would very much appreciate a timeline view displaying all my projects and subtasks in a Gantt chart here. As an example, you could have a look at Wrike software that has a great Timeline view.

I'm not a regular user of Gantt charts, but I think that the Dependency capability in MLO (and perhaps also SubTasks, and Complete Tasks in Order?) seem to lend themselves well to Gantt display. There is a large Calendar-related thread (link is below), and I wonder if a Calendar Display couldn't also have some form of Gantt-Mode to it that would display dependencies and what not? It is probably better for those you use Gantt charts more regularly to chime in over there regarding how well that might work (or not), but I posted some basic thoughts in that direction in the Calendar thread. For reference, here's the two current threads related to Calendar:

I would like a Gantt chart as well. I see value from both sides:
- Input: For designing and planning project timelines - draw out the Gantt chart tasks, and see them realised as tasks in MLO with dependancies and due dates (see Toms Planner for a great design)
- Output: For reviewing project progress - see the overall progress against the original plan - the intention to be to motivate the viewer to focus on the critical tasks -

I have been watching the "calendar" debate for a few years now. I am convinced that many users voting for the "calendar" feature really do not understand what it is that they want from such a view. Many of those voters are really desiring more of a planning tool, such as a Gantt chart, rather than an actual calendar;and those should consider shifting their votes to this Gantt feature instead.

this is a great idea and something I have been looking for. Seeing start/end dates thus duration on a timeline is invaluable for planning and managing tasks. Show subtasks and the relationship is even more valuable. This may seem like moving the program to more of a project planning paradigm, and it is to a certain extent. Task management is project planning. However, not all the bells/whistles of MPP program is needed. In the interim of getting a gantt in MLO, an alternative approach is to mess with the current 'xml' export file to dump into MPP but prefer a view inside MLO.
