I am curious if this is a black sheep request. It has been around for 8+ years and has 526 votes. In fact I would burn all my votes on this if it would bring it to notice. I realize that you can't do everything and about resources and time. I like many things about MLO but the inability to do anything in notes except enter the most basic of text is frustrating. I was happy that cntrl D injects a date. Perhaps projects are simply too much for it and the Devs intent is a encompassing to do manager. A valid path but unfortunate since MLO appears to be that close. I have 99 screws and need 100. Links to files are not as effective and not searchable.
The only negative I've seen is a reply that talked of speed. Not being a programmer I don't know how difficult it would be to have the option to install the better note editor or not install it.
I don't know if I would recognize a comment by one of the Devs but I would appreciate some idea as to their intent. It is enough of an issue that I will have to begin my search again if there this option is never going to be on their to do list. Can a Dev please comment?

Would also like to see the undo function in notes.

Dwight, I don't see a place or means to put a picture but can send one if you would like. My guess would be that the interpretation by MLO is some form of tab delimited, which would make some sense as to the result.

On further testing it appears that there is some sort of tab like character that is set in rows. If I add something to one of the cells it pushes the rest over and if I delete it can delete the space (tab) the cell occupied. Basically it acts as a tab.
I have just started using MLO but tend to do odd things. I was a great software tester. If I copy and paste a 4R 3C table, I get 4 rows of 3 tabs. I can arrow between the different tabs(cells). They do not take on the spacing of the cells but always appear to be 8 characters wide.
It's a little cumbersome but I'm already using it for data in the notes section.
I'm an ME and biologist so not great in programing. I have copied and pasted cells from libre office emulating a .xlsx spreadsheet. You can't have anything in the cells or it fails.

I am hoping to use this as project notebook. I guess this is outside the design but all the features work well for that. The notes section becomes important, more so than the difference between .2 and .4 seconds to switch screens or what would reduce the speed. Would it be possible to have this as a plugin? I'm not even as interested in bold or colors but possibly a table. It is strange as I can paste a table in and the cells exist, unless there is something in the cells when pasting. If I paste the table and then input data it does just fine. I can't see any lines but can live with that.

Dwight, I would still use an edit button to change the text in the task name more. Currently I try to go left or right of the actual task and can highlight it the quickest using that. Even to the left of the check box will highlight it. I tried the right click to bring up the menu and it is more cumbersome for me than trying to miss the text. Like many programs part of it is developing the habits to use it which will happen the more I use it.
Overall I have found the program to be well thought out. I love the reopen!
