Dark theme to save lots of batteries(android+iphone)
With extended use of this powerful tool, battery life can run down quickly with the bright white theme. With dark theme I wouldn't be surprised if MLO would provide 5-10 times extended use by saving battery life not used lighting the surrounding like it does now.

Just to reiterate that AMOLEDs DO save power with a pure black background and light text. Only the pixels that are lit are on.

AMOLED, as in my galaxy s3 does work this way. White letters on dark background uses less power than dark letters on wire background... and light on dark is easier to read, as long as you have high contrast screen like AMOLED.

That's a misunderstanding about how LCD displays work. The backlight is still on, whether or not it's obscured by dark LCD pixels. A dark theme wouldn't save battery power (though it might look good, especially to avoid disturbing my sleeping wife when adding an idea in the middle of the night).

I love black background with white text. Only add colour if it serves a purpose, not for decoration.
I'm hoping for the same colouring filters on Android that the Win Desktop has. Then colour serves a purpose.
