Develop a Desktop-client for Linux

It just happened..
that I started to use Todoist after using MLO since 2006.
Why? Because they have a nice and easy web interface, so I can use it easily with Ubuntu at home, on my Win10 PC at work (I used the portable version from MLO there so far), on my Android phone with and on my Android Tablet with an Android client. They have not all the features that MLO offers, but the things I need, it is easy to use and available on all systems I use.
You have to pay 3,-/per month for Todoist. But I also have to pay for all regular upgrades on MLO for Windows and Android and for the cloudsync, which is about the same price or even more. -

This seems to have lost steam despite being currently number 8 out of 488 ideas. Is there some reason why a Linux application is not being considered?

after the release of Win10 and microsofts new policy, many people think about changing to linux - including me.
I think that linux will become more important than before. The big run to linux will take place after ms will stop the support for win7. be prepared for that. -

Probably that is the only reason why I didn't bought MLO yet.
I'm still looking for a system to GTD on my android phone + Ubuntu desktops. -

All of my systems now run Ubuntu Linux. I love MLO, but I have to run it in a VM or else (poorly) under Wine. Eventually I think this limitation will drive me away from the product. A native Linux client, on the other hand, would keep me a very happy - and loyal - customer.

I'd prefer a platin (platform independent) version of MLO to be used with the browser rather then a native linux client, if this platin version receives support to work offline as well.

Yes, please develop a native port of MLO desktop for Linux ASAP!
Considering MS's loathsome direction with Windoze 8, at some point I'll have to switch over to Linux on all my professional computers. At which time MLO will lose another long-time, formerly loyal customer.

I would be happy with a working wine version. But of course a native client is prefered. :-)

I hope that something will be done to make it possible to run under GNU/Linux.. I have used MLO for many years now, it is one of my most used programs.. I have used linux always as my secondary OS, but recently I am using Linux about 90% of the time, I would love to not have to run a windows computer just for MLO.

Since the 3.6 version, MLO is not running under Wine. I join the request to make it run smoothly under Wine rather than to create a separate Linux native client.

Either a separate linux version or making it work more smoothly under Wine would be great. I think there's not much missing in Wine, like changing the focus between the reminder list and the main window and a few others.

Even it not a separate Linux version, just making a few tweaks to make the program work perfectly under wine would be great. This would kill two birds with one stone as you'd have a fully functioning Mac and Linux version. If users were given the assurance that wine support would be continued into the future, that would be enough for me.

I run MLO on Windows and also on two Ubuntu Linux systems using Wine. The lack of printing and Help under Linux is troublesome. Cloud sync seems to work OK for me, however.

What Scott H. and Ann-VR said. I'm running MLO on openSUSE, and using KMail.

For the most part I'm running fine on Wine, but there are a few quirks that are annoying.

I use Linux Mint (Ubuntu derivative) is a daily basis, and use MLO under wine. This is not ideal however as some features are missing; the most important for me the cloud sync feature (F9).
Definitely I vote a big 'YES' for a native desktop Linux client.

I need this feature. I vote "YES" to the feature.
