Auto-Editting by parsing relevant info via keywords in notes from "task by email"
I recieve forwarded email from a standard job system that states "Order Date", "Due Date", "Job#", and other consistently formatted text. I'd like to forward these emails to MLO-Cloud and to my file, but I want to expand the functionality of the Auto Formatting function to Take the incoming task and Re-edit the text into more relevant info. For instance:
- Drop the Fwd:
- Create a parent task based on <Job#00000000>, then create subtask from <subject line>. If I recieve a second "task/email" from the same <Job#00000000>, auto file the new "task/email" under the already created present parent task
- Pull "StartDateTime" from <Order Date: > and then the values that immediately follow it (01/23/13). Same goes for "DueDateTime"
- Auto file tasks into certain "folders"
- Limit how far into the notes the "auto-edit" feature looks for the first or second appearance of <order date: >, etc.
I think it should be possible to only apply this auto-text editing/formatting to only tasks that are emailed to MLO Cloud, as to not accidentally re-format the tasks already entered in MLO on any other device. It should also be able to be applied to tasks already entered if the user desires, on a "per-task" basis.
With this feature, I could capture 90% of my email load and would quickly allow me to schedule my own tasks and a number of other individuals that I'm responsible for.
If you want to make some sales, this one feature would be enough to encourage me to buy a desktop and cloud service for at least 5 people.
