I think the best way to get new users in is to let them use the Pro version free (I love dependencies and projects). If you make all the apps free, you'll get a big user base, of which the heavy users will want to sync.
The desktop app (IMO) is crazy expensive, and the sync is really cheap.
I think the best way would be to buy the "MLO service", and then download the apps you need. At the very least, every platform needs a lite (free) MLO app.
