  1. At present MLO forces users to work in a strictly linear mode when using the Next Action views. i.e. it only shows ONE Next Action at a time for each project.

However, according to GTD theory, if more than one Action on a Project is truly actionable right now then you should list them ALL as 'Next Actions'.

So what I am calling for to have a new field called "Force Next" (or something similar) that will in effect "force" that Action to appear in the Next Actions view even if it is not the first Action in the list…

  2. It's minor but should be easy to implement.
    Problem:
If I type 1:30 into Min Time in the properties pane, it becomes "1 hour, 30 min" (which is ok), however, if I then type 3 into Max Time, both properties are reset to "3 min".

    Expected behaviour:
If one of the values has already been entered, the second one should respect the units used i.e. hours:minues, etc (while still validating Max Time >= Min Time). In the case of the above example, this should have resulted in a Max Time value of "3 hours".

If the user has entered a…

  5. To insert something into a list of tasks this should be possible by doing a "pull apart" action.

i.e. When a user views tasks (e.g. in Outline view), if the user does a "pull apart" gesture with their finders, MLO should insert a task at that place.

This can be seen at 35secs in this video about CLEAR from RealMac Software
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nx098UN_oG0

This feature would not only make inserting a new task into the correct place in a list of tasks faster, easier and more fun, but this is also just the sort of slick feature one can show off/demo…

  6. The idea here is that if you pinch together two (or more) tasks that are part of a list (or Project), that all 'peer' items in that list of tasks should immediately be closed.

i.e. In functional terms this is equivalent to opening touching the reversed "L" icon, however the great advantage is that the user does not need to be so accurate with his/her gestures.

See 0:30 secs into this video of CLEAR from RealMac Software to see what I mean:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nx098UN_oG0

This would make MLO Android feel faster, more easy-to-use & more slick. Improving the "slickness" of the…

  7. Moving tasks is currently far too fiddly.

Currently, if the user clicks and holds a task by touching the text area of a Task, some green menu items appear, but the item can not be moved up or down the list of tasks.

I suggest what would be much more intuitive would be that if the user clicks and holds a task, and then whilst STILL holding the user starts dragging the Task up or down the screen, that the green menus should disappear and that the system should go into task move mode (much as if the user had…

  8. Since I use MLO constantly, the MLO icon is one of the fours that are always visible at the bottom of all my Home screens, so it;s always one click away.

I would love it if a Quick Action (3D Touch) could be added that would open a new task, ready for typing or dictation, since adding tasks is 90% of what I do with MLO on my phone.

This would make it as easy as 1) Press Home button. 2) Hard press MLO icon. 3) Type or dictate task.

Of course, this is predicated on whether adding a Quick…

  9. When I duplicate a group of views I have to tweak the names of each and remove the '(copy)' at the end.

There's little horizontal space in the views pane to accommodate a full title description so I end up parsing anyway, yet have to worry about uniqueness as well.

I realize forcing unique titles keeps the title in the view title bar distinct, but is there a way to display title as a hierarchical?, e.g.

"View: Work \ Projects \ Completed"

...esp since the View title seems to always have plenty of un-used space.

    Thank you!

  10. In order to show both the Next Action for each project and tasks that are not part of projects we need IsNextAction to be added to the Advanced filter functions.

This is mentioned by Dwight in this thread.
    https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mylifeorganized/5SQ36qIFmbA

Also, as far as I can tell, the lack of an IsNextAction() in the Advanced filter also means that I am unable to create any view that has more than one Next Action to be "forced forward" by using a special Flag (or special context) for the purpose.

  11. Current the Android Widget shows only context and due date along with each task. Other, more useful information is missing; things like Project, Time Required, Goal (for those that use it), Notes etc. It would be good to be able to select what task properties to have the widget show along with the task name.

  12. A few things would make navigation on the mobile platform easier:

Create a 'view in outline' option within a task
(Helpful for tasks opened via list views, widgets, etc)

Allow notes to be edited and saved without additional clicks
(Previous version of MLO Android allowed notes to be edited without pressing edit, and changes were saved just by pressing 'back arrow', which also navigated to note

    Allow easier navigation to sync
(Particularly for users that heavily use widgets, the number of clicks to sync MLO is excessive.)

I invite any other suggestions on how to make navigation to existing functionality…

  13. To have an option to use "dynamic' words in the task description?

    Example in a recurring task:
    Make tax payment for <month>

Every time the task is set for the next occurrence, the month name is updated. So when set in December, it should read Make tax payment for December

And it would be January if <month+1> was used when setting in December.

    Etc...
