    In Bonsai / GTD, I do this by setting category/context to "?Waiting For" and assigning the contact. I've put my vote against the request to link tasks to contacts.

    This would be better than having to write contact names in as categories. Would also like to be able to filter on the task name. Imagine: you're about to call a contact to ask them to provide you with some information; as you dial, you filter your list to see what else you're waiting for from them and you take the opportunity to check progress on these items with them too - Very effective.
