  1. Yes, you can show project, but this doesn't work for this case:
    - Appliances <- project
    -- Fridge
    --- buy
    --- install
    -- dishwasher
    --- buy
    --- install

This is what I see in todo:
    - buy (appliances)
    - buy (appliances)
    - install (appliances)
    - install (appliances)

Opening task details for such a basic info, feels annoying

On the other hand, seeing project in every task when you have it already opened doesn't make much sense too. I'd suggest to make it different for hierarchical and non-hierarchical views.

  2. Google Now "note to self" integration. Several other task apps (including OneNote, Keep, Evernote, and others allow addition of items when speaking "note to self" to Google Now (or Google Assistant as it will be called.

It would be very helpful to allow for this in MLO as well.

  3. For convenient usage of CSS in notes, MLO 5 should provide a so-called "preamble". The preamble is a user-defined list of custom CSS styles with their settings (user can edit this list). Such functionality is usually available in Markdown editors (Any person who worked with HTML/CSS/Markdown should understand what I'm talking about).

  4. Right now we only have the choice between the paid cloud and... nothing actually. FTP isn't available on mobile devices so it's no real help because you will allways have a difference between some devices..

In the new EU using a third party cloud as sometimes a crime. For real. So we need a new, legal possibility for the cloud. It doesn't really matter what, as long as you can run it yourself. FTP, httpServer, whatever. Any possibility where no third party is involved. That also means No Google, no Dropbox.
I am using FTP on my Windows PCs to…

  5. Currently, MLO will only show the little expansion arrow for a task if there are child tasks present which meet the current view/filter criteria.
However, it would often be helpful to see at a glance (i.e. w/o having to switch views), if a task has uncompleted child tasks or any child tasks at all, even if they don't meet the current filter criteria.

  6. Say for example:

    Check MLO Group @Computer Today

When hitting Ctrl-C I would get all three and not just 'Check MLO Group'

Don't know if it's difficult to implement but it's one of those neat little features.

  7. I like to be able to see the dates on which I actually completed tasks (part of the Pomodoro technique). At the moment, MLO always sets the completion date/time to the current date/time and it is quite difficult to adjust. I quite often find myself marking items complete several days after I have done them (if I have been very busy) and would like to have a mechanism (or mechanisms) for setting the completion date at the same time. For example, using the alternate complete mechanism (ctrl+click on complete pops up a menu of options which includes 'Set completion date');…

  8. Would like to option to optionally set different defaults on certain task properties (similar to Toodledo), e.g. "due date tomorrow" for all my new tasks.

Sure, you can create a template task with these settings, but this is an extra step every time a task/project is created.

Use case: to enable % complete for a project with subtasks, I currently need to manually set "Project" status to "In Process" and set the Effort to Min (to get 100% when all subtasks done).

  9. in the PPC versions, when you select view by context and select multiple contexts, tasks are grouped by contexts. For instance, you can display @errands and @calls together but separately. In this way you can, for instance, making phone calls while you are up and about making errands.

In the Iphone version if you select multiple tasks in the "active by context" view, all tasks are grouped in one big list: not useful at all!

  10. Would like to see recurring tasks that fall on a weekend optionally rescheduled to a weekday. Designation would be to have it move to the nearest weekday or the earlier weekday. Example: a task that recurs on the 20th of each month. When the 20th falls on a Sunday, the task would automatically be due on:

    A. Nearest Weekday Option: Monday
    B. Earlier Weekday Option: Friday

  12. Clicking on Start Date in a subtask of a group that is to be completed in order or in a task that is depending on another task and that already has a DueDate, then propose the Due Date of this dependant entry as Start Date for the task where clicking on Start Date. Maybe as an option to configure offset value (time) to add to Start Date or to End Date of depending entry and possibility to edit offset. There might also be an offset of time to show task in To-Do BEFORE Start Date.

  14. As a project manager, the ability to sync a single branch instead of a whole file would allow me to share individual projects with those working on them instead of using multiple files. Maybe you could charge a premium for having more than say, 10 cloud files?

  16. My iphone 4S has a microphone icon in the screen keyboard. I can already enter text messages, emails, and data in many other apps using the built-in voice recognition. The microphone is visible in the MLO app when adding an item, but it just does not function.

  17. Adding the option of selecting goal states and whether or not tasks are starred into the Android Filter Options wouldn't be too hard and would make a huge difference. This way the user could see all Goals by Context, Starred by Context, Weekly Goals by Context, etc. Rename "Filter by Context" to "Filter Tasks", add a divider at the end or before the Contexts, and list 4 items: Weekly Goal, Monthly Goal, Yearly Goal, and Starred.

  18. it'd be nice to use MLO not only for David Allen's GTD but for Covey's principles as well. therefore definition like roles would be fine, e.g. role:work professional, role:husband and so on. some to-do-apps offer that with tags like "Things", while other have completely inplemented Covey Role-models like todomatrix from rex wireless which was the no.1 todo app for blackberry

  19. For the Windows platform, provide a tool that allows you to sync your workspaces, views, etc between each PC's MLO installation. Best if this can be done via cloud, but that is no a requirement.
