  1. I see the need for instant synchronization daily; Working on my laptop and adding new tasks, having suddenly to walk over to a conference room or colleague, or preparing the next day on my home computer. But since MLO does not synchronize other than on intervals or when the application exits, and not when the laptop goes to sleep since it is closed, I don't have access to those tasks.

Instant synchronization is possible, and does not have to be that hard to implement. For the purpose of implementing this in the current MLO cloud, I propose looking at:

  2. Dear Madams and Sirs

I appreciate your efforts to develop such an amazing application for GTD users.

I hope you can add features of "Insert links to folders" and "Insert links to files" to replace "Insert link to a file", because we usually need to insert serveral links to folders and files, but current we can't insert link to a folder and we've to do many times to insert several links to files.
If you can provide these features in next version, I appreciate you.

    Thanks!

  3. Support a new WinRT hybrid app that runs on Windows Phone 8.1 as well as Windows 8.1, while sharing most of the code base taking inspiration from the Super cool MLO iPhone and iPad versions, not the desktop version.
There were already older suggestions to support Windows Phone 7 or Windows Phone 8 but this new WinRT cross platform opportunity changes the game.

  5. MLO uses routines to calculate dates in the current and surrounding weeks. E.g. Due Date optionally displays the day of the current week, and Automatic Formating Rules can use 'weeks' in the Rules. These do not use the first day of the week defined in the OS, but always use Monday as the first day of the week.

Several countries, particularly in the Middle-East use Sunday as the first day of week, and some countries use Saturday. It makes sense for MLO to use the first day of the week defined in the OS it is running on.

    Consideration should…

  6. The "Zoom Out" feature zooms out to root level, instead of one level above. I use MLO as both as an Outliner and Task Manager, which means I have items that are nested many levels deep. I currently use Workflowy for deeply nested outlines, since that can easily Zoom Out to one level above. If MLO had this feature then I won't need to use Workflowy. The workaround on the desktop MLO is to select the parent node in the address bar, then Zoom-In, but this isn't as easy as using a single keyboard shortcut.

  7. Some of us have ADHD or other executive dysfunction and we require nagging/persistent reminders that we can't easily ignore. An app called Tasks requires you to view each reminder and choose to either do it, or delay it, before the nag goes away. If you happen to restart your phone or close the app, next time you close it, all the reminders come back.

  11. Currently some strings in a Notes field are automatically recognized and made clickable (eg, a web address is converted to a clickable hyperlink). Other strings require being prepended with "file:" in order to turn them into a hyperlink. A common example is local links to specific Evernote Notes, which have the format of "evernote:///view/......". Another example is Thunderlink: "thunderlink://messageid=......".

I propose that MLO for Desktop, and also for Android (and iPhone), add the ability for users to define strings (or protocols) to be matched in the Notes field and then treated as hyperlinks. Additionally it would probably be good to…

  12. I want date selection to be done through rectangular month calendar widget instead of through the wheel. This would allow date to be selected quickly with one touch like in MLO Windows desktop without having to scroll up and down through the wheel, which is a pain. Additionally the wheel does not even show day of the week until you also enable time selection, which is so counter intuitive!

Similarly, the time selection should be simple Hour and Minute fields with number keypad again avoiding the painful wheel.

  13. Llamagraphic's Life Balance: I loved this application syncing with my Palm [ http://www.llamagraphics.com/products/life-balance/windows ].
Unfortunately Llamagraphics choose to make only an iPhone version.
MyLifeOrganized already has the feature of computed-score priority (importance/urgency of a task). By adding a pie chart visual feedback of task achievement in various roles like the one in "Life Balance", MLO is clearly in the reach of filling this gap for Android and becoming a full replacement for LLB!

  14. In to-do list normally I have many related tasks/projects belonging to parents with several levels of folder hierarchy. If I can sort the tasks by path I can group them together in the order that show their meaningful relationships and therefore make it easier to have a clear choice for action

    eg.

path: \house\kitchen\table task: get a nicer table cloth
    path: \house\kitchen\carpet task: dry clean
path: \house\bedroom\carpet task: replace with new one
path: \house\bedroom\light task: buy a brighter one

In this case I can make a decision , say, to do all tasks related to the kitchen first.

    Of course…

  15. I'd like to be able to see a kind of counter of active tasks that remain in particular tab. F.e. there are tabs I don't check everyday and I happened to miss few tasks just because I forgot to check some of tabs. It could be in a form of number that appears next to the tab name, or it could be that particular tab's background would get red, that's indifferent to me.

  18. Imagine you hava a context of "Shopping" and you assign all of your shopping errands to it. Then you have 3 contexts like "Shop1", "Shop2", "Shop3". You would like to able to assign your task only to 1 context ("shopping") but it should trigger at every shop the context includes.

  19. Although I could manage autosync for my Windows desktop with scheduled tasks, I should still press "Sync" button in Android app.
It drives me mad, because all other Android apps autosync in background.
