  1. have folders full of multimedia files in directory structure tree on disk. My task is to view/play/examine all files. Like to have functionality to 'point' to a directory, & have program traverse directory tree as mlo outline, placing 'leaf' files as entries with hyperlinks (in note field) for quick viewing and check-off

  3. While browsing the web or working in a desktop app, I want to:

    a) be able to select some text.
    b) right-click it and select an option which "add selected text to MLO task"

    MLO would then EITHER:
    1) Open and auto-paste text to a task and allow you to complete the task header, OR
    2) simply save the text to a task in the background and add it to your inbox with, say, "pasted text" as the task header. Later when you see it, you could change it.

I don't which is better, or if there is a better…

  4. Please have a look on "Format" panel. It allows to change colors, fonts and so on.
Why set of colors for "Highlight color" is so small? In reality only yellow, green and light-blue can be used. Others too light or too dark. So, please make it look like "Side bar color" at least - with tens of colors to choose available.
It is very inconvenient to use "More...." option to change item backgroud color on pink (for example) every time. to be honest, side bar color is too small to be noticed and thus to be used.

  5. in the PPC versions, when you select view by context and select multiple contexts, tasks are grouped by contexts. For instance, you can display @errands and @calls together but separately. In this way you can, for instance, making phone calls while you are up and about making errands.

In the Iphone version if you select multiple tasks in the "active by context" view, all tasks are grouped in one big list: not useful at all!

  6. Groceries, hardware shops, all sorts of locations that exist in multiple places but when you enter one as a context for your errands, you have to be near to that specific shop to have it show up as nearby. What is needed is a way to define multiple locations as hardware shops and be able to assign a context to an errand that catches all of them.

  7. Hi,
When I am using mlo I am have one top level task used as folder of my projects. I lately redesign my work and I found that the folder is growing and I need to find a way how to cope with that. The first thought I had was to use alphabetical ordering Tool->Advance->Sort subtasks. However there is not such option how to sort the task alphabetical. Further I have not found any workaround.
To: MLO – would it be possible to add such option?
To: All – have anyone came across that problem and found solution.

    Many thanks,…

  8. I would like to make better use of MLO Task Notes. A very valuable enhancement would be to allow it to "pop out" into a separate window. Ideally the user could control whether it is always on top of other windows (allowing me to take notes while working on a PowerPoint, for example, or while reading am email).

  9. MLO (Windows) does not have a status bar. It would be a nice addition to display a few basic statistics in a status bar (total tasks, completed, etc.)

  10. On Blackberry, "minimize" is done by hitting the "hangup" button which unfortunately also terminates the current voice call. Please provide a "minimize" entry in the hotkey/shortcut settings that would not hang up.

  11. Would like to option to optionally set different defaults on certain task properties (similar to Toodledo), e.g. "due date tomorrow" for all my new tasks.

Sure, you can create a template task with these settings, but this is an extra step every time a task/project is created.

Use case: to enable % complete for a project with subtasks, I currently need to manually set "Project" status to "In Process" and set the Effort to Min (to get 100% when all subtasks done).

  12. When you have a task outofdate you must to take focus on other more importants, but you don't want to "close" the task as done, only to easily "hide" in right-click menu and to have available in another view.

  13. MLO works pretty well under Wine, until we can get a native Linux version. But printing is a problem, as it depends on having parts of IE available. Please consider eliminating this dependency.

  15. Example: Project A: step 1 & 2: must be done daily, step 3 weekly, step 4 DAILY ...
Currently, either you have to have every step show up on the task list, or step 4 will not show until one week later when you do step 3. If step 4 is due daily, and step 3 is not due yet, step 4 needs to be a next action when step 2 is done.

  16. Currently the BB gets a copy of the links in the notes but they are not active, nor can they be created on the BB. This feature would add this.

  17. When you make an item a project, you get "time required for the project" min+max. When subtasks are completed, these numbers do not change.

    (a) It would be useful to have total time remaining for the project. Halfway through a project, the total time is not really useful - the time remaining is (arguably) the only important statistic.

    (b) It would be nice to be able to show these values for a group of tasks.

    (c) It would be useful to have these fields appear in the column list.

Specifically, under the "effort" pane, add a calculated field "total time…

  18. Please add an option to run MLO automatically when Windows starts. It would seem like an essential feature for this sort of software. It would also remind the customers to use it!

  19. Since the behavior of a task is so different (and useful) when it becomes a project, it would be nice to have a separate "add project" item on both MLO menus and hotkeys.

This could simply be a new task with the "project" property enabled, and optionally define min-effort so that % complete entirely depends on subtask completion
