  1. Would be nice to be able to add more data fields, eg. having a box where i could add a quantity, which then would be added up in the parent view of the folder structure.
I´m a freelancer and would like to use MLO also to organize my jobs and also add what I earned with each job. Great would also be the option to import a link to map or contact or email in each entry! Would be a shame if such a nice and elaborate folder structure leaves only a text and date field to fill out!!

  2. Even if you have List View Display Mode set to Full View, the task text gets truncated to two lines. The individual task should instead expand vertically to always show the full title. By implementing variable-height tasks you can also make single line tasks shorter and not have all the empty vertical space. See MobisleNotes (note the spelling) in the Android Market for an example of how this is done.

This should apply to the task properties screen as well. The text field should expand instead of being limited to showing two lines at a time.

    Clipping the title reduces…

  3. I group tasks in outline by setting subtasks under a "heading" task and often don't want most of those subtasks showing up in my todolist but do want a few to. It would be nice if they could appear simply when a due date is added - that would override the main task setting for those particular subtasks

  4. MLO is not truly portable app, it saves settings in a registry. 1) Add support for storing settings in a config file near mlo.exe (ini, xml). 2) Save relative paths to *.ml files if they are opened from MLO directory.

  6. Many competing to-do managers allow attaching external files to individual to-do items. It would be very useful to do this in MLO, and be able to open such attachments by double-clicking. (Attachment icons could be displayed in the sidebar).

Im using MLO to track planned features and bugs in my software projects. I'd obviously find it highly useful to attach screenshots, log reports etc.

  7. There are some interface elements that would be great to hide. Some are:

    • I only use the "Outline" view. I would love to reclaim that space by hiding the tab for "Outline" since its the only one.

Also a better arrangement must exist for the "Task To-Do Visiblity". I would love to use context more but I always have the "General" options minimized because of the big waste of space to the left of "Task To-Do Visibility". Maybe move Context and Urgency/Priority to their own panel section and leave "General" for details truly related to MyLifeOrganized

  8. For those who find it difficult or even impossible to install or update mlo on work computers, it'd be great to have even a light version of mlo available on the web.

  9. I would foressee a numerical outline, easy to build by foreseeing 3 extra fields: Father (for each node, who is my father), Level (I'm a node of which level), Order (Within my level, which is my order or ranks in the sequence). The numerical outline is the a fourth field computed as a concatenation: e.g. 01.01.02.05
When exporting to excel a macro could rebuild this outline and have the Excel 'Data' tree (green 'group' arrow) automatically built.

  10. I spend too much time trying to figure out why some maybe/someday task showed up among my urgent priorities or why something I must do today is languishing at the bottom. Suggestion: Enhance Task Statistics to show every factor that goes into the sorting of tasks, show how they are weighted and combined. It would save a lot of trial-and-error.

  11. I need to see - what current task now in progress. Please add popup card, that will be over all windows with current next action task.

Just a name of task, task notes and two buttons: checkbox 'completed' and 'open task in MLO'.

  12. Would like to see recurring tasks that fall on a weekend optionally rescheduled to a weekday. Designation would be to have it move to the nearest weekday or the earlier weekday. Example: a task that recurs on the 20th of each month. When the 20th falls on a Sunday, the task would automatically be due on:

    A. Nearest Weekday Option: Monday
    B. Earlier Weekday Option: Friday

  13. A vote here is a vote against calendar view functionality. Although a mockup exists, there's no evidence yet of any consensus on what needs to be built. Once the development resources engage on this functionality they will be committed to huge efforts to mollify the people who will believe that the wrong functionality was implemented.

  16. Sometimes a task is added but never completed because it becomes irrelevant, or was an incorrect idea to begin with, etc. Deleting such tasks will leave no record of them; marking them as "completed" would falsify the data. It would be great to be able to mark tasks as "canceled" or "rejected" (or choose yor own, more precise term). In the UI, such tasks should porobably be treated as completed taskls, e.g. when hiding/filtering, etc.
(I use MLO to track planned features and bugs in Delphi software I write. Preserving the "rejected ideas" would be very useful in this context),

  18. as in the window and the PPC versions, I would like to have the possibility to encode the parent project's name in the task view. very useful to manage long task lists in context view.

  19. Actually, you have to use the mouse to "Star" a Task.

Also, why doesn't the Star shows in the Properties Pane, why only in the Outline/To-Do pane?
