  1. I used a the contact manager software ACT years ago and it had a text field named "Last Action" with a timestamp I found this very useful as it provided a short description of the last action that was taken on this particular contact. One could then create a view with the last action and timestamp for a task. This is a great high level overview of where you left off on a task without going through lengthy notes. for example "05/01/2016 4:15pm - requested status update", or 05/16/2016 08:00a - Hardware arrived and will be racked by EOW". Your…

  2. Imagine you hava a context of "Shopping" and you assign all of your shopping errands to it. Then you have 3 contexts like "Shop1", "Shop2", "Shop3". You would like to able to assign your task only to 1 context ("shopping") but it should trigger at every shop the context includes.

  3. The "Zoom Out" feature zooms out to root level, instead of one level above. I use MLO as both as an Outliner and Task Manager, which means I have items that are nested many levels deep. I currently use Workflowy for deeply nested outlines, since that can easily Zoom Out to one level above. If MLO had this feature then I won't need to use Workflowy. The workaround on the desktop MLO is to select the parent node in the address bar, then Zoom-In, but this isn't as easy as using a single keyboard shortcut.

  4. Have an MLO Widget that shows up in the Today view.

An example of an iOS task management app that does this well is 2DO.

  5. For work I have to use the company's task manager. I can import tasks if they are in .csv format so I would also be able to see my MLO tasks. Having to reference two task lists during the day is counterproductive so this would be a much appreciated feature.

  6. Add MLO to the iOS sharing menu so items can be sent from other apps as tasks to MLO.

This is an essential feature for any iOS task managing app.

  7. MLO already has input parsing for task added via Rapid task entry dialog. It would be great if just the same was applied to tasks added via email.

  8. In order to show both the Next Action for each project and tasks that are not part of projects we need IsNextAction to be added to the Advanced filter functions.

This is mentioned by Dwight in this thread.
    https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mylifeorganized/5SQ36qIFmbA

Also, as far as I can tell, the lack of an IsNextAction() in the Advanced filter also means that I am unable to create any view that has more than one Next Action to be "forced forward" by using a special Flag (or special context) for the purpose.

  9. Currently if I create a New Task on Android via the New Task Widget the Task shows up in MLO at the Bottom of the Inbox list. I would like there to be an option/setting (for Android and also for Windows) that newly created Tasks (from places like the Android Widget or the Rapid Task Entry Box) would be added to the Top of the Inbox (and similar Views, such as Active Starred), instead of the bottom. Someone else actually asked for this general idea back in July 2015:
    https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/mylifeorganized/top/mylifeorganized/ztRR4Q0SAMw/L1BuSH72FQwJ

For me, being able to have the Tasks get added…

  11. Organize the suggestion box to logical categories, folders, tags to make it easier to see if the idea or something similar is there to avoid suggesting things that are similar to what is already been requested. currently, one has to look through 300+ listings to see what has been suggested.

  12. I support a very large site on safety issues and it would help to be able to include info on the source of the task such as the person, their group, method received such as phone, email, text; date received, stakeholders, etc, request type such as review, survey, lookup something. As sorting tasks by requestor would help in prioritizing items as they are often general requests with no specific deadline but rather need for help. This source could be accomplished by a link to a contact list but the method and date received

  13. There is already the possibility to choose some designs in "options - Themes". A few options are still missing: to choose the background of to-do-lists and the view-tree for example. There is much white which I would like to turn into darker colours

  14. Give the user an option to hide task's children in todo while keeping the parent task visible in todo.

This is helpful for keeping the main task (e.g. Call Charlie) visible while constructing the "agenda" in invisible subtasks (e.g. Confirm date, Discuss idea X, etc.)

Hiding the complete branch would be achieved with a combination of Folder+Hide children.

  16. Since I use MLO constantly, the MLO icon is one of the fours that are always visible at the bottom of all my Home screens, so it;s always one click away.

I would love it if a Quick Action (3D Touch) could be added that would open a new task, ready for typing or dictation, since adding tasks is 90% of what I do with MLO on my phone.

This would make it as easy as 1) Press Home button. 2) Hard press MLO icon. 3) Type or dictate task.

Of course, this is predicated on whether adding a Quick…

  19. Maybe it could sound counterintuitive or contrary to MLO's philosophy, because if you need a task checklist, you can simply add sub-tasks under it.

But sometimes you need a simpler, cleaner way to subdivide a task.

Maybe it could be implemented simply by adding a rich text note editor with checkmarks and put the checklist as a note.

Please, take a look to how trello.com implements them.

  20. Would it make sense (I guess yes, IMHO) to create an Entreprise Version of MLO where, as a manager, you could create and delegate tasks to managees (and/or peers).

IMHO, the delegation shoud be done trhough the creation of a subtask, delegated (owned by the deleguee) so that you keep the initial task as your own responsability (if you delegate, you keep responsible of the task).
