  2. I would like to have the possibility to replicate the same task in different folders. I'm not talking about a copy of a task (a duplicate), but the same task appearing in more than one folder. When I edit the task in one folder, it's changed in all others. It would be actually a link to one task.

In other words, imagine I have a folder called "Taxes", and another called "Car". I would like to have the "Pay car tax" in both folders.

To make it simpler to develop, I wouldn't mind if the task only belongs to one…

  3. MLO has the concept of "active" tasks, which means according to the help file:

    1) no open subtasks
    2) no completed parents
    3) no future start date
    4) not a folder
    5) not "hide in todo"
    6) next if "complete in order"
    7) no open dependencies

However, I just noticed that an important criterion is missing:

    8) if it's a project or inside a project, the status of he project must be "in progress"

It does not make sense to me to count tasks in projects that have not been started or have been completed or suspended as "active".

  4. When organizing work flow or projects using folders there are times when you no longer need to see a folder in the outline view, but want to be able to have it visible later for reviews, or reuse of the hierarchy.

To do this, it would be useful if you could hide (and unhide) a folder, or a selected group of folders, with a) a check box function, and/or b) even better based on criteria like ' when empty ' or after 'such and such a date' and then be able to use a function that says 'make all hidden…

  5. Would be great to be able to add a phone number or contact link to a specific task. Would save a lot of time searching through contacts or typing numbers into the phone for appointment tasks in MLO.

  6. With the option to ask about what to do with contexts when moving tasks to other Parents, so far I can only find a way to completely overwrite the existing Contexts (or not change them at all).

This is not handy because subtasks often have many additional contexts added, eg. a particular person related to a single task, and I do not want to loose that information.
Is there maybe still a way to do this that I do not know about?

What would even be better (but less necessary for me) is if we could select what contexts NOT…

  7. I would like to synchronize my tasks from JIRA to MLO and vice-versa. All I need is API to MLO-Cloud.
API could be used for web-client or anything else that you want.

  8. Its not always necessary to have a start and/or due date for a re-occurring task. This is in part reflected in the ´re-generate task x number of days after competing the previous occurance´. But as we all know, most task should not have a due date, but prioritized by urgency, importance, etc. In this philosophy, it should also be possible to have re-occurring tasks that do not have a fixed start or due date, and its up to the auto prioritization, or simply our daily scan, to decide if we do it today, or tomorrow, or later. At this time,…

  9. Hi everybody,

I like to have the possibility to set my MLO up in a way that
MLO requires certain data fields to be filled to accept a task.

that would make certain tasks are "processed", displayed and organized by MLO correctly

the data fields and the allowed input should be fully customizable.

Reason: I'd rather spend more time entering tasks into mlo and have them processed correctly than just throw them into the inbox and have to organize them later.

I hope you like and vote for this idea.

    Blessings, Nic

  10. If you play a rewarding sound whenever a task is completed it will trigger a good feeling after finishing each task. This will encourage people to finish more tasks and that will make this app more useful and effective. You could use a different sound for adding new tasks.

An option page with custom sound to play would be also great.

If you want to create a habit of completing more tasks please vote up this idea.

  13. I would really appreciate a new "derived importance" field that would be computed taking the importance of ancestor tasks / folders into account, as well as its own. It should be possible to add a filter rule based on this field (and also Computed-Score).

This idea is mainly to allow the importance of tasks in different branches and at different levels to be comparable in a meaningful way. The function should assign (configurable?) weight factors to ancestors, with top level tasks / folders weighted highest and descendant / leaf tasks weighted lowest.

Importance values of sibling tasks / folders should…

  14. The button to move a task is at the bottom of the form. This means that when the task has a long note (very common if coming from an email), the user has to scroll down A LOT just to find the move button

Just by simply moving the move botton at the top of the form, there would be a very big improvement imho in terms of usability anr productivity for those who use often the move task feature

  15. First of all, well done for the great new calendar view feature! I imagine that you have been thinking about how to improve this over subsequent versions. How about this...

    • Allow the user to mark a task as an event (a new property I suppose), and require at least a start date or end date to be set.

    • For a normal task, when the user sets a begin and end date on the same day, prompt the user whether to mark it as an event.

    • These kinds of "event" tasks should appear in the Calendar View listed under "my events",…

  16. Would it be possible to add the review-related data fields (next review date, review frequency) to the lists of fields that you can use to group/sort tasks? There are a number of useful views that you could create with this functionality.
Thanks, and keep up the great work.

  17. I would like the possibility to postpone a task. I admit, this is an obvious danger for procrastinators, however, it is not so dangerous if we consider how it would be applied.

Most important, in my opinion, are tasks that are scheduled long in advance or recurring tasks with intervals of weeks, months or even years, because the situation can change over time allowing us to legitimately postpone a task. Otherwise these tasks will just be a distraction in our "Active Actions" view.

Individual tasks can have their due date modified, however, a postpone feature would arguably be most useful…

  18. The MLO time filter allows the time available to be looked up in Outlook. What I suggest is that this look-up be repeated every x minutes so that the filtered view always shows the tasks that can realistically be done now.

  19. Include max time and effort as factors to be considered when calculating its Computed-Score (short, easy tasks should have higher Computed-Score).

Also, if a task is, by itself, not important or urgent, but there are tasks that depend on it, its Computed-Score should take those dependant tasks into account because it is blocking them.

Alternatively, when adding tasks that depend on the current task, the maximum values of their importance and urgency should optionally be assigned to the current task (if higher). That would be a simpler (but not as nice) way of making the Computed-Score realistically take dependencies into…

  20. Currently,
"With MLO 4.0 you can sync only via Cloud.
MLO 3.x can be synced via USB. "
Lack or direct sync makes buying software not viable with no support in the future.
Need to sync with WiFi or USB.
